The Vetronix Ignition Scope Module Kit

The Ignition Scope Module Kit expands the capabilities of the MTS 3100 Mastertech kit by enabling you to measure high voltage signals on automotive components and systems, including solenoid circuits and spark ignition systems. A database of vehicle ignition information makes the Ignition Scope operation and hookup quick and simple allowing you to view waveforms in as few as four key presses. The Ignition Scope Kit consists of an Ignition Scope module, a test lead and probe set, an RPM Sync Probe, a Secondary Ignition Probe, a combination I/P-DC Power Cable, and an E-Manual CD.

The Kit has been designed to operate with the Mastertech tool set and the MFT Pro Series v2.0 software (note: requires the 8MB program card). The Ignition Scope Module is designed to work with the Mastertech in the same way the EDLS Module or the DLS Module works.

The Kit provides the necessary hardware to interface the diagnostic lead set with the Mastertech, including the ability to measure up to +/- 600 volts directly. Although not a component of the Ignition Scope Kit, the Ignition Scope Module requires an 8-megabyte Mastertech field-programmable program card, which contains the diagnostic software for the module. Some modes will not be visible on menu unless the Module is connected to the Mastertech. These modes include Sensors, Actuators, Injectors, and Distributor.

Quick Check - view sample screen
Secondary Ignition for Distributor Ignition (DI) and Electronic/Distributorless (EI) Ignition systems gives you a "quick" single cylinder waveform by hooking up a single probe. Software automatically determines ignition polarity and displays the waveform.
Single Cylinder Power/Waste - view sample screen
Secondary Ignition displays Secondary waveforms for both the Power and Waste spark from a single cylinder. Software automatically determines ignition polarity and displays the waveforms in a "dual-channel" oscilloscope format.
Parade/Single
Allows you to choose a problem cylinder out of the parade display on a distributor ignition system and toggle to a full-screen display of that single cylinder for a more detailed analysis.
Engine Setup
Allows you to choose a firing order and use any cylinder as a trigger cylinder. Cylinders are marked at the top of the display, and the trigger cylinder is labeled with a "T".
RPM Meter
Displays Live, Minimum, and Maximum RPM in a digital meter mode.

Display Control:
The Oscilloscope display configuration may be adjusted to display the data in different formats. The Display Control menu indicates keys that are used to change the Oscilloscope settings.
Oscilloscope Preselect:
The MFT oscilloscope includes preselect functions for Sensor, Actuator, Injector, Distributor, and Current signals. By selecting one of the functions, a list of components that are found on powertrain systems is displayed. Each of the functions is designed tospeed up the oscilloscope setup time.
